Federal Community: Mark the Holidays and New Year with a Donation through the CFCNCA

2017 campaign ends Jan. 12, 2018

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11, 2017 – The Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA)—the annual workplace giving opportunity for Federal employees in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area—encourages donors to make monetary and volunteer pledges through the CFCNCA as part of their year-end giving plans. 

“The end of the year is fast approaching. What better way to celebrate the holidays and New Year, than by supporting your favorite cause through the Combined Federal Campaign,” said Vince Micone, Chairperson of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee that oversees the CFCNCA. “The campaign has thousands of local, national, and international charities to choose from, and Federal donors can find a match for any cause they are interested in—from veterans services to education, health to wildlife conservation, disaster relief and more.”

Federal employees have a long history and tradition of donating through the campaign. In the last 10 years, approximately half a billion dollars has been raised through the CFCNCA. These generous gifts have positively changed the lives of those in need around the country and the world. The following amounts show the potential impact a donor can have with a one-time donation:

  • $85 provides one week of groceries for a four-person family in a metropolitan area. 
  • $60 sends a volunteer nurse to provide urgent medical care in communities around the world. 
  • $15 supplies 50 test tubes needed by scientists working on a cure for cancer.

The campaign provides the Federal community the opportunity to give to multiple charities at once. Donors are encouraged to make their financial and volunteer pledges online through cfcnca.org. Payroll deduction allows Federal employees to give a little each pay period, adding up to a significant gift at the end of the year. The online pledge portal closes on Jan. 12, 2018, and paper pledge forms must be postmarked by this date.
