Global Impact Taps Lindi Harvey to Lead the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital AreaAccomplished Leader from Federal Government, Business Sector and NGOs Joins Global Impact as Executive Director of the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) Alexandria, VA (August 11, 2010) - Global Impact, whose mission is to assure help for the world's most vulnerable people, recently announced a new addition to the senior management team. Lindi Harvey, an innovative leader whose professional achievements span both the public and private sector, will serve as Executive Director of the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA). "Lindi brings a wealth of fundraising, program management and business expertise to this mission-critical position within Global Impact, leading one of the world's largest workplace giving programs," said Renée S. Acosta, President & CEO, Global Impact. "As Global Impact moves into its eighth consecutive year of managing the CFCNCA, we are fortunate to have someone as talented and accomplished as Lindi at the helm, building on past successes while charting a new and innovative direction." As Executive Director of the CFCNCA, Lindi will oversee management of the local Combined Federal Campaign for Federal employees in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Through the collective contributions of nearly 150,000 civilian and uniformed Federal employees, the campaign generated a record-breaking $66.5 million in pledges in 2009 for about 4,000 charities to help people and communities in need in our neighborhoods, across the country and around the world. Prior to joining Global Impact, Lindi held several senior-level positions in the Federal government as well as the private sector. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director of the National Park Service where she led strategic policy and program development, partnerships, visitor experiences, volunteers-in parks program (with over 150,00 volunteers), Centennial planning and youth and student outreach initiatives. In addition, she launched a new youth outreach initiative for the parks focused on innovative efforts to promote greater visitation and volunteerism and collaborated with the Department of Energy and Department of the Interior to develop and launch an Energy SmartPARKS National Initiative to implement sustainable green energy practices in national parks. Before joining the National Park Service, Lindi served as Deputy Director of the Office of International Women's Issues at the U.S. Department of State, where she led diplomatic initiatives, managed public-private partnerships and assisted in the launch of women's health care awareness programs. She also served as Senior Program Director of the National Women's Business Council in the U.S. Small Business Administration and Senior Vice President of Citigroup. A committed public servant and volunteer, Lindi has served on numerous Boards and Councils and assisted in fundraising efforts for community and nonprofit organizations including Children's Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, March of Dimes and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness, among others. She also established a workplace-based community and charitable effort for the Geneva Capital Strategies Division of Citicorp. Lindi is a recognized speaker and trainer at local, state, national and international levels regarding advancement opportunities in civic engagement, public policy, community service, volunteerism and entrepreneurship development.
