Your leadership in the CFC has a tremendous impact in the region. Thanks to the pattern of generosity from Federal employees, we expect the Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area will remain a vital source of workplace giving contributions for participating local, national and international charities. With the continuing economic crisis, all charities will be looking to maximize their exposure to Federal employees during the campaign just as CFCNCA seeks to solicit all employees for their charitable giving.

Religious Holiday Scheduling

Please be sensitive to the major religious observances such as the ones listed below when scheduling events. Avoid scheduling on dates which would preclude the participation of individuals or organizations due to religious observances. Dates within the 2009 CFCNCA campaign include:

• Monday September 21 Eid al-Fitr (Islamic festival which concludes the feast of Ramadan)

• Monday September 28 Yom Kippur (Jewish Day of Atonement; the most solemn day of the Jewish year marked by prayer and fasting.)

• Saturday October 17 Diwali (Hindu/Sikh/Jain Festival of Lights)
