The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) wrapped-up a hugely successful 2009 Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area (CFCNCA) with an awards ceremony held in their historic Administrator's Reception Room. Overall, the EPA raised $1.2 million for this year's CFCNCA and their Campaign Manager Janet Weiner, was named the CFCNCA Civilian Hero of the Year in this year's Campaign Contest.

Highlights of their campaign included:
- EPA employees pledged $1,201,769. to the 2009 Campaign, with an average gift of $664.33.
- The agency earned CFCNCA's Summit Award (achieving a 3 percent increase in giving over the previous year's results) and the Million Dollar Circle Award (recognizing departments and agencies that raise more than $1 million in contributions).
- Three of EPA's CFCNCA Reporting Units participated in a pilot online pledge process, and also for the first time EPA employee's could use credit/debit/e-check to make a pledge on-line, with over $106,000 pledged by employees through CFCNCA e-giving options.
